Green Key - Trend note

Green Key is the first international environmental label destined to tourism and food industry and is active in up to 50 countries. It counts 656 establishments in France only (including Le Caussanel campsite). Since 2014 Green Key joined Atout France, which contributes to French tourism development.

The trend note we received was written in French. If you want to give it a go you can check it here; if not we've prepared a short summary below.

The Law of 12 July 2011 requires food waste to be recycled seperately by all professionnals in the food industry.

Coming bills:
On the 1st of January 2016 it will be forbidden to give out plastic bags at supermarket checkouts.
In 2017 it will be forbidden to use pesticides in towns' green spaces.
In 2020 it will be forbidden to use disposable dishes unless it can be composted.

The real question is: Does Le Caussanel campsite follow these sustainable development trends? We do! And we are way ahead of them too. How? Well, find out below:

We've been recycling food waste since 2005 by giving a large portion to the animals of our mini farm.

We give out reusable and solid bags in our accommodations since 2008.

We don't use pesticides in our green spaces since the very beginning of the campsite's existence.

Now it's your turn, please share your opinion with us in comment.
Do you recycle your food waste? Do you think it's important to be able to recycle your food waste when on holiday? Do you take reusable bags with you for your errands? What are your tips for tending to your garden without pesticides?
