1985 :
National launching of the label "Pavillon Bleu" from the coastal districts on "Teragir" initiative, under the eagis of the Ministry of environmental issues.
1994 :
"Teragir" signs with the United Nations a cooperation with the Wordlwide Tourism organization an environmental program in order to represent the Pavillon Bleu everywhere else in the World.
Europeans' Pavillon Bleu are represented in 15 countries all over Europe including Sweden and Estonia.
The campaign spreads to the France's overseas territories and departments.
2012 :
On the international stage, the Pavillon Bleu is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
It has been developped in 41 countries.

2014 :
In a record time we can note : 150 rural and urban districts (389 beaches) and 94 sea ports certified in France. Over 4 000 sites are certified worldwide.
2015 :
The Pavillon Bleu celebrates in France its 30th anniversary of existence.
