What to do when it rains at le Caussanel...

When you dream of your holidays, the sun is always shining, there is a pleasant warmth, and the weather is lovely. However no one can control or truly predict the weather, and sometimes disaster strikes, and it rains. However don't be alarmed, here at le Caussanel, and the surrounding regions, there is so much to enjoy, even when it rains: 

Visit Rodez- The historic town of Rodez offers lots of indoor attractions. Go and visit the famous gothic cathedral, the fascinating museums, such at the Soulages museum, which is dedicated to the great modern artist Pierre Soulages, and the Fenaille museum, full of prehistoric statues and objects. Alternatively, if you are in the mood to treat yourself, head to the aquatic centre, with its hammam, sauna, and four pools, peruse artisanal boutiques, and eat at the exquisite restaurants.

Visit Roquefort - Foor the food lovers, it is essential to visit the caves of Roquefort. Today thousands of cheese workers operate in the Roquefort caves. After being made at the farm, the cheese is left to mature naturally in these caves for many months, under the watchful eye of cheese experts. You simply must visit the caves of Roquefort, the small but perfectly formed medieval village of Roquefort, and taste the delicious cheese.

Visit Micropolis - This huge city of interests is a fun and fascinating plays. Enjoy an amazing day out here, with lots of entertainment, in a place completely unique in Europe. Discover more than 70 types of insects, see a whole new world at the 3D cinema, discover carnivorous plants, and so much more. 

Visitez Château Calmont d’Ort – The chateau is situated at the village of Espalion, and it is a hot spot for history, and medieval tales. Discover traditional battle techniques, and experience authentic daily life in the Middle Ages. See the trebuchet in action, and archers skillfully fire their bows. Children have the chance to dress up as knights or medieval royalty, and they can even gain a diploma in knighthood.

Also don't forget, the entertainment team will still be putting on classes for when it rains. There is a whole world out there to discover, even when it rains...
